Nick Taylor

Nick Taylor has been a lecturer in Computer Science at
Heriot-Watt University for longer than he cares to remember.
His research interests are many and varied but are anchored
in an area which seems recently to have been christened "Soft
Computing" - Artificial Neural Networks, Evolutionary Computing,
etc. He is using machine learning algorithms to help with Affective
Media's key challenge of detecting emotional states from speech
features.
