Nick Taylor
Professor in Computer Science and Principal Scientist

Nick Taylor is a Professor in Computer Science at
Heriot-Watt University.
His research interests are many and varied but are anchored
in an area which seems recently to have been christened "Soft
Computing" - Artificial Neural Networks, Evolutionary Computing,
etc. He is using machine learning algorithms to help with Affective
Media's key challenge of detecting emotional states from speech
features.
